Cidnavir (Cidofovir Injection 75 mg/mL) is a prescription medication used for the treatment of certain viral infections. Cidofovir is a nucleotide analog antiviral agent that inhibits the replication of various DNA viruses, including cytomegalovirus (CMV) and adenovirus.

Indications:

Cidnavir is indicated for the treatment of:

  • Cytomegalovirus (CMV) retinitis in patients with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS).
  • CMV retinitis in immunocompromised patients, including those with AIDS.

How to Use:

  • Cidnavir is administered by intravenous infusion under the supervision of a healthcare provider.
  • The dosage and duration of treatment will be determined by your healthcare provider based on your condition and response to therapy.

Side Effects:

Common side effects of Cidnavir may include:

  • Kidney toxicity (nephrotoxicity)
  • Neutropenia (low white blood cell count)
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Injection site reactions

Precautions:

  • Inform your healthcare provider about any existing medical conditions and medications you are taking.
  • Cidnavir may cause kidney problems; therefore, kidney function should be monitored during treatment.

Storage:

  • Store Cidnavir solution for injection at room temperature between 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F).
  • Protect from light and keep the vials in their original packaging until use.
